How do I install Microsoft 365 on a Chromebook?

If you've followed our instructions on installing Microsoft 365 onto a computer, you probably noticed there isn't an "Install Office" button in the top right.  This is because Chromebooks run off a modified Android operating system.  Chromebooks require installing the Microsoft Mobile Apps from Google Play.

How to install Office 365 on Chromebooks:

  1. Install the Microsoft Mobile Apps from Google Play
    • There is an app for Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneDrive, Outlook and Teams.
    • There is no app for Access, Publisher, or Project
  2. Log into the apps using your Northwood Tech login information
    • When the app asks for your email, put in your student ID#@northwoodtech.edu (example: [email protected]).  If there are issues when logging in.
    • Use your MyCampus password
  3. You're all done!

Students will need to use a Northwood Tech computer or an alternative personal computer to be able to use Access, Publisher, or Project.
