How to open and close OneNote notebook

Close OneNote notebook (desktop app): 

 

Note: Make sure all your notebooks are present, that they are up to date, and all recent changes have been synced. To do this, click on the ellipses (…) in the upper left corner of your MyApps portal, then click on OneNote. If you notice something is missing or out of date in your OneNote (online) – do not perform the steps below. 

 

  1. In the OneNote app for desktop, click on the dropdown menu next to your notebook’s name. 

  1. Right-click on the notebook you need to close out. 

  1. Click on Close this Notebook.

  1. Repeat steps 1-3 for each notebook that needs to be closed out.  

 

 

Open online notebook in the desktop app: 

 

  1. From your MyApps portal, click on the ellipses (…) in the upper left corner, then click on OneNote.  

  1. Click on My notebooks, then click on the ellipses (…) next to the desired notebook. 

  1. Click on the more button (>) next to Open

  1. Click on Open in Desktop App

  1. Repeat steps 1-4 for additional notebooks.
